Street Life - Behind The Photo

Street Life - Behind The Photo

It's night time. A man stands on the street, with his back to the only light that illuminates the neighborhood. His face is hidden by the shadows. He forms a gun shape with one of his hands & points it to his head.

I call this photo Street Life. And, I view this photo as an objection against the glorification of Street Life in our society.

Guns are cool. Doing drugs is fun. Selling drugs is a way to make a lot of money. You gotta be a thug & keep it gangster at all times. These are just parts of the Street Life image that gets constantly perpetuated in our society & this does us no good.

Guns aren't cool. In the wrong hands, guns make weak people feel powerful & that can lead to tragic situations. Doing drugs isn't fun & messing around with them is like throwing your life away. Being a thug & keeping it gangster doesn't prove anything, all it does is show your ignorance.

If you live that Street Life, all you're doing is killing every opportunity you have in this world. And it will only ends 2 ways, with you either locked up or dead. Instead, choose to become a productive member of our society. Want to do something positive with your life. Educate yourself & show other's that there is a better way. That's how we progress in this world.

Don't point that finger gun to your, or anyone else's, head.
